TRACES proudly hosted an engaging and inspiring Information Session at Sciences Po Grenoble, marking yet another milestone in its growing international outreach. The event was met with enthusiasm and curiosity from students eager to explore the world of undergraduate research, cross-disciplinary studies, and global academic exchange.
The session introduced the core mission of the conference – to empower undergraduates to think beyond disciplinary boundaries and to publish their work in an official ISBN-registered volume. The presentation highlighted the conference’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Students learned that while all presentations must be conducted in English, research originally written in other languages (e.g., French) is fully welcome – provided an English abstract is submitted. Language will not be a barrier to participation, and TRACES remains dedicated to empowering scholars across linguistic and disciplinary boundaries.
Student Voices from the Ground
“It's a great opportunity for the students at our university to share their work with the already world-wide network of TRACES.” Said Mathéo Launay, one of TRACES’ External Communication Board members at Grenoble who co-organized the session. “Today, as French students, but also as guardians of knowledge, they will be able to make French language a part of this program. And as Victor Hugo said ‘To know what everyone else knows is to know nothing. Knowledge begins where what the world doesn't know begins.’”
Ilona Ferreira, another Board member, added, “As the President of ASIA Grenoble, I truly believe in the power of cultural exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our association serves as a bridge between France and Asia, fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s cultures and scientific advancements. Through initiatives like TRACES, we can create spaces where students from different backgrounds and disciplines can come together, share knowledge, and break down barriers. The fusion of European and East-Asian perspectives not only enriches academic research but also inspires innovative solutions to global challenges.”
Reflecting on his hosting of the event, Chairperson and Secretary of Communications Damien Shum remarked, "TRACES was created to break boundaries – disciplinary, institutional, and linguistic. We want students everywhere to know that their work has a place here. I’m deeply grateful to our External Communication Board members and ASIA Grenoble for their dedication in bringing this to life. Their effort and energy embody what TRACES stands for: collaboration, passion, and academic empowerment."
With international collaborations continuing to grow, TRACES reaffirms its mission to make research more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for the next generation of scholars.
